Parenthood - the TV show

Did you watch the new show Parenthood on NBC last week?

The show had many things going on and one of the plots was about a boy who is just being diagnosed with Aspergers.

One of the interesting things was his grandfather, portrayed by Craig T. Nelson and how he resisted and then came around to the realization that there was something going on with his grandson. There was a touching moment between his character and the boys father played by Peter Krause. Of course, in real life something like this could take months, years, even longer or not at all.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out on the show. If you want to catch the show, it is on NBC on Tuesdays at 10/9 central - or you can catch full episodes on nbc.com

How was the diagnosis of your child's special needs accepted by your extended family?

I loved that episode last week. It was very real and touching. My extended family was wonderful although some of them had a harder time than others.
