Intervenors

Have you heard of an Intervenor? I suppose that I have heard of an Intervenor without knowing the formal name.

I recently heard a follow up story on triplet girls who are deaf and blind. They (the parents) were telling their story and how what is needed for these girls to thrive is 3 Intervenors - they likened their story to Helen Keller and the help that she received through her Intervenor - Annie Sullivan. These girls need 3 "Annie Sullivans".

Apparently there are not many people in the US with these skills and yet there are some in Canada but there is red tape on making the connection. I enjoyed reading about the process that an Intervenor goes through to teach children in this circumstance. If you would like to read about it - click here.
