Part 3 - Fitness and Special Needs

Happy Monday!

Welcome to Part 3 of our series on Fitness and Children with Special Needs.

Sometimes, running around the park for an hour is enough fitness for a child. But, it can certainly be frustrating if your child is unable to join his/her friends at the park becuase the park itself is not special needs friendly.

Meet Mara Kaplan of Let Kids Play. One aspect to her company is creating adaptive/inclusive playgrounds. You can read all about it here.

Mara and her company can help you devise a plan to integrate a Universal Design playground in your community by planning, working with the community, fundraising and more.

In addition to playgrounds, Mara can consult with you on an individual basis as to finding toys that might help with integrating fitness into your lives.
