REVIEWS

Where can you read and write reviews written by and for

those who have special needs in their lives?

Only at KnowledgeSafari.com!

Have you ever visited a site to see what people had to say about a restaurant, store, hotel, etc. before you decided to go there? I sure have!

Those reviews are helpful in general but are not specific to special needs.

The REVIEWS section on KnowledgeSafari.com will help you determine how well suited specific places or things are for the special needs in your life.

For example:

- Does a particular restaurant cater to a gluten free diet?

- Does anyone know of a Dentist who works well with Sensory Processing Disorder?

- I want to make sure that a hotel is really accesible for my needs.

- I just had the best experience at a movie theater in my town, I want to share the story!

- I went to a great new restaurant and it was a good experience for my son who has autism.

- I read a book that is great for siblings of children with special needs!

And the list goes on and on! We are a new site and our database of reviews is growing -but we need you! The more people who contribute the better the resource will be!

This is for you and by you! So, if you can spare a few minutes and really that is all it takes, we would appreciate it if you would write a review and then read some too! You might find something really helpful.

We want to make this the best resource available for the

special needs community!

KNOWLEDGE SAFARI - REVIEW SECTION

Hi Everyone!

So, it's been a few weeks since our launch and things are going great...thanks to you!

We have been holding giveaways galore! The people at the shipping store are our new best friends! :)

I wanted to take a moment to explain the REVIEW section of the site. There are many review sites out there on the internet and of course, ones in print form. Ours is different.

When you take a moment (and it really only takes about 5 minutes) to submit a review here is what to expect.

1.) You will be asked to search for the business to see if it is already there. We're so new that most often you will get the message that the business has not been found.

2.) You will be prompted to add the business. The usual stuff like the name, location, website, etc. Put in what you know - don't worry if you don't know the zip code, for example!

3.) Then you will be able to give it one to five stars based on your overall opinion.

4.) Here is the GREAT part! You will now be prompted to answer questions as to how this business suited to the special needs in your life. You will be asked about auditory and visual stimulation levels, accessibility, inclusion, food allergies and more.

So, when you read a REVIEW...you will be able to see the answers to these questions. Imagine how fantastic it would be to be able to know ahead of time, how a particular restaurant, hotel, after school program, doctor, therapist, and the list goes on and on...would be for you and your family?

It takes time for the database to be built, it is generated by the users of the site. But, once it gets rolling we are sure that it will be a solid resource for you.

If you have a moment...check out the reviews that are already there

If you have 5 minutes....write a review of your own

If you have 10 minutes....write two reviews

If you have 15 minutes....write a review and tell a friend!

Thank you so much for your support and enjoy the site!

REVIEW SECTION - WE NEED YOUR OPINIONS!

One of the great things that you will be able to do at the www.knowledgesafari.com website (launching soon!) is review the local establishments that you frequent with your child who has special needs. Or, that you frequent as a person living with special needs.

You will be able to review places such as, restaurants, stores, hair stylists, doctors, classes, etc. And, products such as toys, videos, books and more.
This section will be driven by you the user! So, whatever you want to review - you will be able to do it right on our site! Let's face it - we all have opinions that we want to share.

So, while we are putting the finishing touches on this section of our site, we would like to know what is important to you.

What mental checklist do you go through when evaluating the experiences you have had? What makes you return and what makes you stay away? What makes a product one that works for you? We are thinking of things that specifically relate to special needs such as accessibility, sensory issues, etc.

Please help us help you by leaving your thoughts in the comment section. See you there!

KNOWLEDGESAFARI.COM REVIEWS SECTION COMING SOON!

Just recently we saw a tweet from @DeafMom on Twitter...she was thankful to have a great dining experience with her family at PF Chang's. What made it so special? The waiter was able to use sign language to communicate with them. Can you imagine how liberating that must have felt?

We were so happy to see this for their family and also because it validates our plan.

Our plan is to have a REVIEWS section on our new social network site that will be geared toward people affected by special needs. Everyday life is sometimes hard enough to navigate but add a special need into the mix and things can get rough.

For example, if your child is on the spectrum and has sensory issues - we know that even getting a haircut can be tricky. So, what if you could go to our site and search for hair stylists in your area that are sensitive to your child's needs? Or, what if your child needs some clothing that has no tags or seams - the review section at www.knowledgesafari.com will be the place to go.

We know there are many issues that can be addressed by proper reviews - we want to hear from you now! What are your concerns when visiting local establishments? Stores, restaurants, movies, etc.?

Do you want to be one of the first to review a place near you? If so, please leave us a comment and we will contact you!

Our official launch will be early 2010 - we are gearing up and getting ready to serve you and your child's special needs!
