What Would You Do Wednesday

Welcome to What Would You Do Wednesday here on the Knowledge Safari blog. Each week we take a question that has been submitted to us and throw it out to you to help us answer!

If you have a question for a future post, please email it to blog@knowledgesafari.com

Today's question comes from Linda!

"My friend had a baby recently who has special needs. She was born prematurely and now has cerebral palsy. Her baby is now 2 1/2 years old. I am trying to support her the best I can, but I also long for the days when we could go out together and have lunch/dinner etc. She has a great husband and involved parents but does not seem to be able to continue her life. I don't know if I should say something, encourage her to get out and about a bit, etc. What do you think?"

So, blog readers let's give Linda some advice on how to handle this! Sounds like a girls night is in order!

Kidnap her right this minute. I'm serious. She's probably trying to be "super mom" and thinks that if she leaves disaster will strike. Work it out with her husband and kidnap her. Take her to dinner, to get a pedicure, go sit on a bench at a park and talk. But seriously...do it!! Once she does it and realizes it's ok and it makes her feel better, she'll hopefully do it more often. Also, direct her to all of our blogs so she can see that it's ok to live! :)
